Traditionally, a strongroom is a room built into the existing structure of a building with thick, reinforced concrete walls. While these rooms are perfect for the job, they can impose some unwelcome headaches during the overall project period.
Months of planning and surveys, planning permission, building regulations, the timescale of the construction and of course, the considerable cost that all this brings.
As well as the time and effort involved in building a concrete strongroom, there is also the consideration that a built-in strongroom can actually devalue the property.
If a company relocates and wishes to sell the property, assuming the new owners don't need a strongroom, there would be another considerable expenditure of time and money involved in removing it.
A Prefabricated Strongroom (PSR) is a practical alternative to the purpose built strongroom. Although a survey and planning is still needed prior to installation, planning permission and building regulations is not an issue.
The relocation issue is removed, in so far as you will, no doubt, want to dismantle and re-build the PSR in your new property. This isn't possible with the purpose built option and would considerably reduce your overall costs.
Construction time is dramatically reduced also. Where a purpose built strongroom could take months to build, depending on the amount of structural work needed, a PSR can be construted within a week of its arrival on site.
