Chubb Safes EDR Range

The principle of the Explosive and Drill Resisting (EDR) range of safes is quite simple but very effective.

Incorporating Chubb's unique Isolated Boltwork Locks, on turning the key of the 8-lever keylock or locking the 4-wheel keyless combination lock, the bolt throwing mechanism is disconnected from the external handwheel.
Any attempt to force an entry by dislodging the lock - particularly by an explosive charge in the keyhole - is thereby defeated since, with the drive disengaged, there is no means of retracting the 4-way main bolts.
A glass relocking device amongst other devices is incorporated into the locking mechanism to ensure that the bolt throwing mechanism remains positively locked in the extended position under various types of attack.
Within the 17mm single unit outer body, is a 51mm monolith of Chubb's Torch and Drill Resisting material, giving an overall body thickness of 68mm.

There are 5 models in the EDR range varying in the sophistication of their built in anti-theft devices and therefore, the amount of overnight cash storage insurance companies will allow.
There are 6 sizes although not for each model but all the models look identical to each other. This is to confuse would be thieves so they can't be sure as to which safe you have or what type of anti-theft devices are incorporated.

The models are:

Renown -        overnight cash rating      - £10,000
Vanguard

Resolute

All refurbished safes leave our warehouse fully overhauled. They will have been completely stripped down, the locks and all re-locking devices serviced. Any worn parts within the safe or outside will have been replaced and the safe sanded back to the metal and re-painted. The standard colours we use are two shades of grey. A light grey, almost white, on the door, while the body is painted slightly darker.

Other colours are available at the customers request.
