John Tann Bankers Cash Safe Mark VIII
The overall design and construction of the John Tann Bankers Cash Mark VIII is immensely powerful.
Special materials employed in the body and door linings resist the scientific methods of attack used by criminals.
Cold Forming techniques and welding give colossal strength against force of all kinds.
Advanced design skill went into the construction of the body and also into the vital control mechanisms.
The locks, either key or keyless combination, are of bank treasury grade and the precision engineered boltwork incorporates devices automatically resisting attack by explosives and other means.
The styling of the Mark VIII is simple, yet impressively dignified. Its massive strength speaks for itself.
It was made in five sizes with weights ranging from 1568kg to 3519kg.
BODY: The body thickness, including the back, is a constant 115mm strongly reinforced at connecting areas.
The construction employs cold forming techniques coupled with advanced welding methods to form a jointless outer shell of tough steel plate. The inner body is similarly joined to the outer shell in such a way that the joint is as strong as the parent metal.
The body which contains 36mm of metal is constructed from a series of interlocking structures which resist delamination techniques.
The construction consists of a tough outer steel plate, behind which is a reinforced drill and torch resistant monolith approximately 76mm thick connected to the alloy protection metal via a mattress of heavy reinforcing bars which are interwoven at the corners for additional strength.
DOOR: The door has an overall thickness of 177mm with not less than 108mm of protection over the locks and vital boltwork. A total of 85mm of special alloy, metal carbides, tough steel and compound metal plates gives extreme resistance to drills, all forms of oxygen cutting, impact and other forms of attack.
THERMIC LANCE ATTACK: Devices are incorporated in the safe to deter this form of attack.
LOCK AND BOLTWORK: The door is secured with 39mm diameter, bright drawn steel bolts locking behind a solid steel rebate, which is an integral part of the inner body of the safe.
The rear edge of the door is secured by a solid steel continuous bar locking behind a similar rebate.
The door is secured by two John Tann bank treasury grade, 10 lever high security keylocks, complete with stainless steel detachable bitted keys in duplicate.
The precision engineered boltwork incorporates special devices designed to give protection by re-locking the boltwork mechanism in the event of attacks which produce heat, displaces the lock or attempts to cut a hole in the door.
